Transfer Undergraduate Scholarships

Indiana Tech Transfer Merit Scholarship

Transfer students who have completed post-high school, college level coursework are eligible for a transfer merit scholarship. The merit scholarship is determined based on the cumulative GPA earned from their last college/university attended. Students are eligible to receive this scholarship for up to a total of eight semesters.

Additional Information

  • This is not stackable with the Indiana Tech Elite Scholarship
  • If you are an athlete, you will need to discuss with your respective coach how the merit scholarship fits in with your overall athletic offer
  • Tuition restricted scholarship
  • A minimum of a 2.0 GPA must be maintained to for the scholarship to be renewed

Indiana Tech Elite Scholarship

The Indiana Tech Elite Scholarship awards $15,000 yearly, for up to a total of eight semesters, to students demonstrating academic excellence and pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Requirements for Transfer Students

  • 2.5 cumulative college GPA
  • 3.52 cumulative high school GPA
  • 1170 SAT (combined math and evidence based reading and writing) or 24 ACT composite
  • Acceptance to Indiana Tech

Additional Requirements

  • Tuition restricted scholarship.
  • A minimum of a 2.75 GPA must be maintained to continue receiving your scholarship.

Indiana Tech Presidential Scholarships

Indiana Tech values community leaders and would like to recognize students who exhibit leadership potential while demonstrating the core values of the university. The Presidential Scholarship will recognize students for their achievements and encourage them to grow their leadership abilities.

This is a full tuition scholarship. It is renewable for up to eight semesters to help you achieve your first baccalaureate degree.

Ideal candidates will show concrete examples of how they have led within their communities. Candidates should have an attitude of continuous improvement and seek to improve their leadership abilities while helping others. To encourage this, the university will require recipients of this scholarship to complete annual leadership projects within the campus or local community.

In selecting recipients of the Presidential Scholarship, preference may be given to candidates who have established contributions within the Fort Wayne community, especially within the East Central neighborhood.

Recommended selection criteria

For transfer students:

  • Qualified for scholarship upon graduating high school
    • 3.75 cumulative high school GPA or higher (on a 4.0 point scale)
    • 1240 SAT (combined math and evidence based reading & writing) or 26 ACT composite
  • Acceptance to Indiana Tech
  • Maintain a 3.5 GPA at their previous institution

Application Process

The application requirements must be submitted to the Admissions office  or uploaded to your student portal, by January 6th, 2021. To apply, you must complete:

  • The Presidential Scholarship application at indianatech.edu/register/presidential
  • An essay describing a time that you have demonstrated character and/or leadership in your community, your role, how others were affected, and what you learned from the experience (no more than 2 pages, double spaced).
  • A professional resume demonstrating key accomplishments and contributions.
  • A recommendation from a non-relative about how you demonstrate one of Indiana Tech’s core values: respect, commitment, honesty, passion, or integrity.

Additional Requirements

  • Applicants must complete the FAFSA and meet financial aid deadlines each year to be awarded the scholarship.
  • Deposits must be made by May 1.
  • Tuition restricted scholarship.
  • Presidential Scholars must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. If GPA is lower than 3.0 for two consecutive semesters, the student’s scholarship will be eliminated. However, if the student raises the GPA to the accepted level, the scholarship may be restored.
  • Applicants who fail to complete leadership projects may not be awarded the scholarship in subsequent years.

Associate Degree Transfer Scholarship

If you have or will receive your Associate’s Degree prior to enrollment at Indiana Tech, you can earn a $3,000 scholarship in addition to your merit scholarship.  To qualify, you must have cumulative 2.25 GPA at the completion of the Associate Degree.

Additional Information

  • This scholarship cannot be awarded with an athletic scholarship or a Partnership Grant
  • You must enroll in a traditional undergraduate degree at Indiana Tech
  • Tuition restricted scholarship

Indiana Tech Partnership Grant

Non-athlete freshman and transfers who are admitted into Indiana Tech’s traditional program at our main Fort Wayne campus are eligible for the following stackable grant based on home state:

  • Illinois Partnership Grant- $3,500 per year
  • Indiana Partnership Grant – $3,000 per year
  • Michigan Partnership Grant – $3,500 per year
  • Ohio Partnership Grant – $3,500 per year

Additional Information

  • The Partnership Grant will take effect only for new students starting in the 2021-2022 academic year.
  • This award cannot be used in addition to an Indiana Tech athletic scholarship, Ivy Tech Transfer Scholarship or Associate Degree Scholarship.
  • This is a tuition restricted scholarship.
  • Students may receive this scholarship for up to eight total semesters.
