Traditional Undergraduate Scholarships

There are dozens of scholarships available to help you pay for college. Below is a list of the best scholarship and grant opportunities that are currently available. If you’re an international or transfer student, please review your scholarship opportunities in your respective section. Private scholarships are also available with new ones becoming available often.

Indiana Tech Merit Scholarships ($4,500 to $13,000 per year)

Indiana Tech offers merit scholarships to first-year students that are accepted to the university.  The award ranges from $4,500 to $13,000 per year based on the student’s high school GPA. To determine your merit scholarship, simply go to our Net Price Calculator and enter in your High School GPA.

Additional Information

  • This is not stackable with any of Indiana Tech’s Elite Scholarships
  • If you are an athlete, you will need to discuss with your respective coach on how the merit scholarship fits in with your overall athletic offer
  • Tuition restricted scholarship
  • A minimum of a 2.0 GPA must be maintained for the scholarship to be renewed

 

Indiana Tech Presidential Scholarship (full tuition)

Indiana Tech values community leaders and would like to recognize students who exhibit leadership potential while demonstrating the core values of the university. The Presidential Scholarship will recognize students for their achievements and encourage them to grow their leadership abilities.

This is a full tuition scholarship covering up to 18 credit hours per semester. It is renewable for up to a total of eight semesters to help you achieve your first baccalaureate degree.

Ideal candidates will show concrete examples of how they have led within their communities. Candidates should have an attitude of continuous improvement and seek to improve their leadership abilities while helping others. To encourage this, the university will require recipients of this scholarship to complete annual leadership projects within the campus or local community.

In selecting recipients of the Presidential Scholarship, preference may be given to candidates who have established contributions within the Fort Wayne community, especially within the East Central neighborhood.

Recommended Selection Criteria

*Please note this is for Fall 2021 applicants only. The test score requirement is preferred, but not required at this time.*

For incoming freshmen:

  • 3.75 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 point scale)
  • Minimum of 26 ACT score or 1240 SAT preferred, but not required
  • Acceptance to Indiana Tech

For transfer students:

  • Qualified for scholarship upon graduating high school
  • Maintain a 3.5 GPA at their previous institution
  • Minimum of 26 ACT score or 1240 SAT

Application Process

Students can upload materials to their student portal at apply.IndianaTech.edu/status or email documents to admissions@IndianaTech.edu by 5:00 p.m. on January 6th, 2021.

To apply, you must complete:

  • The Presidential Scholarship application at indianatech.edu/register/presidential
  • An essay describing a time that you have demonstrated character and/or leadership in your community, your role, how others were affected, and what you learned from the experience (no more than 2 pages, double spaced).
  • A professional resume demonstrating key accomplishments and contributions.
  • A recommendation from a non-relative about how you demonstrate one of Indiana Tech’s core values: respect, commitment, honesty, passion, or integrity.

Additional Requirements

  • Applicants must complete the FAFSA and meet financial aid deadlines each year to be awarded the scholarship.
  • Deposits must be made by May 1.
  • Tuition restricted scholarship.
  • Presidential Scholars must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. If GPA is lower than 3.0 for two consecutive semesters, the student’s scholarship will be eliminated. However, if the student raises the GPA to the accepted level, the scholarship may be restored.
  • Applicants who fail to complete leadership projects may not be awarded the scholarship in subsequent years.
Indiana Tech Elite Scholarship ($15,000)

The Indiana Tech Elite Scholarship awards $15,000 yearly, for up to a total of eight semesters, to students demonstrating academic excellence and pursuing an academic degree.

Requirements

For incoming freshmen:

  • 3.52 GPA high school
  • Minimum of 24 ACT score or 1170 SAT Math and Evidence Based Reading and Writing combined
  • Acceptance to Indiana Tech

For transfer students:

  • 2.5 GPA at previous college
  • 3.52 GPA high school
  • Minimum of 24 ACT score or  1170 SAT Evidenced Based Reading and Writing and Math combined
  • Acceptance to Indiana Tech

Additional Requirements

  • Tuition restricted scholarship.
  • A minimum of a 2.75 GPA must be maintained to continue receiving your scholarship.
Indiana Tech Partnership Grants

Non-athlete freshman and transfers who are admitted into Indiana Tech’s traditional program at our main Fort Wayne campus are eligible for the following stackable grant based on home state:

  • Illinois Partnership Grant- $3,500 per year
  • Indiana Partnership Grant – $3,000 per year
  • Michigan Partnership Grant – $3,500 per year
  • Ohio Partnership Grant – $3,500 per year

Additional Information

  • The Partnership Grant will take effect only for new students starting in the 2021-2022 academic year.
  • This award cannot be used in addition to an Indiana Tech athletic scholarship.
  • This is a tuition restricted scholarship.
  • Students may receive this scholarship for up to eight total semesters.
